Valentine’s Day is the culmination of the holiday season! From Christmas through New Year’s to Valentine’s Day, time seems to fly by at warp speed and during that time a staggering 39% of couples become engaged.
Getting engaged begins a new phase of your relationship; you've transitioned from dating, to promising your forever to the person of your dreams. For many couples, the day after the engagement, you begin planning the wedding. You start calling venues, shopping for the dress and suits, and figuring out your color scheme.
STOP… Breath in. Breath out. Relax. You know – stop and smell the roses!
As I work with different couples, I realize the first step after your engagement is to do nothing. Enjoy this new phase of your relationship, stop and appreciate the commitment you have made and the journey you are embarking upon. Share your wonderful news with your family and friends. Get used to saying “my fiancé”. If you have the time, enjoy your engagement for at least a couple of months before the planning starts.
If you can’t help but start to plan, think about how involved you want to be in the planning process. Do you want to be hands on, would you like a partner to help guide you through the process or do you want to just show up on the day knowing all your wishes have been managed to your desired specification?
C'est Mon Plaisir Events endeavors to make your wedding planning a stress-free process with our wide range of services.
